Hard Way bets are where you are looking to hit a 4, 6, 8, or 10 before you roll a 7. But you have to roll them the hard way which means for a four you need 2-2, for a six you need 3-3, for an eight you need 4-4 and for a ten you need 5-5. And keep in mind that when you are playing a Hard Way bet that if you roll your number and it is not the Hard Way it is a loser. For example, if you were playing a Hard Six you need to roll 3-3. The other two combinations, 1-5 and 2-4 are losers.

The payoffs for hitting a Hard 4 are 7 to 1, a Hard 6 is 9 to 1, a Hard 8 is 9 to 1 and a Hard 10 is 7 to 1.

It sounds great to hit a nice payoff of 7 to 1 or 9 to 1 but the bad news is that the house advantage on Hard Way bets is between 9 and 11 percent. That makes Hard Way bets one of the worst bets you can make in the online casino. Compare that percentage to the less than 2 percent house edge on the pass bet or don’t pass bet.

Keep in mind that at most online casinos you can’t make Hard Way bets until after the come out roll.
