How About the Don’t Pass Bet in Craps?
How often have you seen a player make a “Don’t Pass”
bet in craps? It doesn’t happen very often does it? People
simply don’t like betting on something not happening. They
prefer to bet on a number coming up instead of not coming up.
What is the difference though? Is the Don’t Pass a good
bet in online craps?
With a Don’t Pass bet in online craps you win if the come
out roll is a 2 or a 3 but you lose if the number is a 7 or an
11. If it is a 12 you get a push. The same thing happens with
a don’t come bet. The odds are against you on the come out
roll where you get beat by a 7 or an 11 but after that they are
in your favor. Overall the odds are almost identical as a “Pass
Line” bet has a house edge of 1.41% while the “Don’t
Pass” bet has a house edge of 1.36%.
Since most players won’t play the Don’t Pass bet
they don’t even know that you can take odds behind it. This
means that you are taking odds on the player not making his point.
There is no house edge if you take odds so you should always do
it.
You probably won’t be popular at the craps table if you
wager the Don’t Pass but you may end up winning money in
online craps and that is the ultimate goal.
