The House Edge in Craps
One of the most exciting games to play at the online casino is
craps. Not only is there a lot of action, there are a lot of choices.
Let’s look at the house edge in craps and the exact percentages
for each wager you can make when playing craps.
Good Bets
The best two bets in craps are the pass/come bet and don’t
pass/don’t come bet. The house edge on these two bets is
just over 1%. You can also reduce that house edge by taking odds
behind your bets. The next best wager for the player is the place
bet on 6 or 8 as the house edge is 1.52%. The field bet is also
not too bad for the player if they get 3-1 on 12. The house edge
is just 2.78%. If you have a table where you only get 2-1 on 12
then the house edge goes up to 5.56%. The place bet on 5 and 9
is also not too bad for the player with a house edge of 4% and
the place bet on 4, 10 to lose is actually only 3%.
Bad Bets
There are actually some bad bets when you are playing online
craps. You don’t want to be playing any of the prop bets.
The house edge is more than 10% on all of the prop bets. The house
edge is also high on any craps at more than 11% and 11% on hard
4 and10. The Hard 6, 8 is also a bad bet with a house edge of
more than 9%. The any craps bet is a bad one for the player with
a house edge of more than 11%. The big 6, 8 is also a bad bet
with a house edge of 9%. Another poor value is the place bet on
4, 10 as it has a nearly 7% edge for the house.
